The Next Great Motorcycle Accessory
I admit it. I am a gadget freak! No doubt because of a deep-seated desire to be ‘Bond, James Bond’ or at least to be very good friends with Q. So it was with great anticipation that I followed this year’s Macworld Conference & Expo in hopes that there would THE announcement of the ‘iPhone’.
I was not disappointed!
Now let me stop here for just a second, as I am sure that there are many of you wondering why, on a motorcycle blog, I would write a post about a phone. To this I respond, ‘Thank you for asking!’
Like many of you, I like to take my bike out for road trips. And when I do, I will take my cell phone with me (just in case) as well as my iPod. Sometimes listening to new music (such as Dim Lit Daylight), sometimes learning Spanish and sometimes to jam with the rock and roll greats. And before I go for an extended trip, I oftentimes get on Mapquest and print out a map of my intended journey (because I haven’t yet sprung for a GPS unit).
So let’s see here… A cell phone, an iPod and maps… All to take a trip… Until June that is.
‘June?’, you ask.
Yes, June because that is when the new iPhone is expected to start shipping.
‘And what is so special about this iPhone?’, you continue.
Well… It combines a cell phone, with an iPod that is also a ‘breakthrough internet device’ (fancy words meaning that you can access Google Maps, among other things).
So as a gadget freak, I anxiously await replacing three items with one and continuing on my ‘covert missions’.
