After a brief, but enjoyable trip to the Texas Hill Country last weekend for the 1st Annual Hawgs and Hills Rally in Llano, it is back to the Hill Country this coming weekend for the 11th Annual Hill Country Run in Fredericksburg. The official site for the rally can be found here.
It looks like [...]

Samples of Mark Reid’s handywork

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

Master body painter, Mark Reid, did not disappoint at the 1st Annual Hawgs and Hills Rally in Llano, TX this weekend. His work is truly amazing.

This young lady won the ‘Best Body Paint’ contest. The only actual clothing she has on (besides the hat) is a thong that has been painted over!

Here she [...]

V-Twin Bike Show Roundup

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Thought I would finally post a few pics we took last week at the V-Twin Bike Show in Dallas. Had a great time looking at all the bikes and even talking with a few of the custom bike builders.

If you have a chance to attend one of the V-Twin bike shows, I [...]

Hey dude, you got a Hemi in that bike?

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

Sound like an odd question?
Well it may not be all that uncommon in the future thanks to a new hemi-head, V-twin motorcycle engine design by Revolution Performance Motors, based in Idaho.
The company, Revolution Performance Motors, is an offshoot of Renegade Motorcycles who, for the four-valve hemi motor, purchased the exclusive rights, trademarks and patents. [...]

Spring in Texas means bluebonnets

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Spring in Texas means that the bluebonnets will be out. Usually, we find them more south, towards the Hill Country. But with all the recent rain, they are popping up all around.
The patch in the pics is near a farm house that is about 15 miles south of Snyder. We stopped there [...]

The riding hazards of Spring

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

Crystal over at girlbike.com has written a good post about the perils that face us as motorcyclist now that Spring is upon us. Her post can be found here.
In her post, Crystal reminds us that with the renewal that we call Spring also comes to us a need to ‘renew’ ourselves to the many [...]

US Hwy 191 in Arizona

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

This is another ride to add to your list of travel places if you are a motorcycle rider who likes curves. The some-odd 92 mile stretch between Clifton and Alpine, Arizona offers, by one writer’s count, more than 400 curves. See excerpt below.
I counted 435 curves between the city limit and the town [...]

Easyriders V-Twin Bike Show in Dallas

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

Well, the Easyriders V-Twin Bike Show yesterday in Dallas seemed liked a great success. At least from my vantage point it was a success. Just pulling up to Fair Park and seeing bike after bike after bike, even before ever entering the show, was awesome.
As usual, there were a multitude of vendors plying [...]

New model offerings from American IronHorse

Saturday, April 21st, 2007

While touring the American IronHorse facilities yesterday, we were offered a sneak peak (at least for us) of one of their newest models, the Bandera.
As I understand it, the Bandera is one of three new models to be introduced by AIH as part of their Rally series. The Rally series is a push by [...]
