Why do you ride?
If you are a biker, chances are you have been asked that question before. And if your experience is anything like mine, you get asked it on a pretty frequent basis.
So what are your reasons? Have you ever really given them much thought? Or do you usually reply with a surface-level answer when asked this question?
I know that often times, I just provide people with a surface-level response because most people who ask really don’t care ‘why’ I ride. They are simply asking as a way of telling me (sometimes politely but often times not) that they think I am crazy for riding!
Those people get the ‘Better gas mileage.’, ‘Like to fell the sun in my face.’, ‘insert-yours-here’ type of answers.
So what about the ‘real’ reasons I ride Why do I really do it?
Well… That is something that I intend to start sharing here in the future. Hopefully, as an ongoing series of posts.
In these posts, I will share some of the epiphanies that I have had in the past, as well as those that I may have in the future.
So check back here often for some more ‘philosophical’ reasons for riding. Think about some of your own real, deeper motives for riding. And feel free to share some of your reasons here or with others.
Be safe in your travels!
