Tips include:

» Check your motorcycle. If your bike has been parked in the garage all winter, check the tire pressure and make sure your brakes work, said John Bilyeu, general manager of Stockton Honda Yamaha.

» Leather up. The sun may shine, but don’t think it’s OK to wear flip-flops and tank tops while riding, Bilyeu said. The road doesn’t care how hard you hit it, he said.
