How motorcycle helmet visors are made

There is a very informative and detailed post by Rick K. over at webBikeWorld entitled, ‘How to Make a Motorcycle Helmet Visor’. You can find the post here.
In case you want to build one yourself, here are the instructions, as compiled by Rick.
How do you make a motorcycle helmet visor? It’s easy. First, buy a 50,000 square foot factory. Next, fill it with a zillion dollars worth of injection molding machines, robots, inspection equipment and raw materials. Then add a highly skilled and experienced staff who know how to design the products, engineer the processes and make everything flow smoothly through the plant.
All kidding aside, Rick does go into a very detailed description of the process as explained to him during a recent tour of MXL Industries, Inc. Incidentally, MXL manufactures about 50% of all of the OEM and aftermarket visors that are used by Shoei.
Although the MXL contained quite a bit of proprietary systems and such, Rick was able to take enough photographs to provide a quasi virtual tour of the the facility.
Enjoy your education for the day!
