Motorcycle roads resource

Looking for another resource to help guide you to new motorcycle roads? If so, you can add MotorcycleRoads.us to your list. You can find the web site here.
As of this post, MotorcycleRoads contains listings for more than 2000 roads and over 118,000 miles of highway and aims to be “your one-stop resource for great motorcycle roadsâ„¢ in the US.” The site was started in July, 2003.
Developed as a service to the motorcycle community, the mission of the site is,
…to provide a comprehensive listing of roads available from various Internet resources or contributed by motorcycle riders. I include information on each road listed to include a map, rider comments, references, and connecting roads. You are encouraged to visit the references for more details such as road conditions, photos, amenities, and tourist attractions. These web sites are excellent and most are maintained by motorcycle enthusiasts.
To be included in the this list, a road or highway should have twisties or sweeping curves and/or be scenic. With some exceptions, Interstate, limited-access highways, and roads in urban areas are not listed. “If you’re going to ride the freeways you might as well take the car.” Roger LaRue, Burlington, Washington.
The site also solicits additional info from other readers/riders. So if you know of a good motorcycle road that should be included, be sure to submit it for inclusion.
The pic above (from the MotorcycleRoads site) is for Ranch Road 170, located in the Big Bend region of Texas and consistently voted as one of the state’s top motorcycle roads. For rider comments and other resource on RR 170, visit the MotorcycleRoads site. Or follow this link.
