Promising new direction service: Dial DIR-ECT-IONS
There is a promising new direction service out there called ‘Dial DIR-ECT-IONS’. You can find their web site here.
The skinny on the service is this. You call in from your text enabled cell phone by dialing 347-328-4667 (DIR-ECT-IONS) and give voice commands for your start and destination. Then shortly, you will receive a text message with detailed, turn-by-turn directions from your starting point to the ending point.
Pretty slick!
Although currently only available for nine metro city locations, more locations are on the way.
This could be a good substitute for those of us who don’t yet have a GPS unit or want to access Google Maps or the like.
